Membership Application

 It is a rule of the Society that new members are only accepted on the recommendation of an existing member, and with the approval of the Committee. The reasons are to maintain the standard of membership at a high level, and more importantly to safeguard the many valuable, and in most cases irreplaceable items of property which the member may borrow for his/her personal research.

 PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT AN APPLICATION UNLESS THIS REQUIREMENT IS FULFILLED.

 The only exception is the overseas member, who as an associate, is, regrettably not able to borrow books, folios etc.

The Society has members in the majority of local Engine Clubs and Preservation Societies in Great Britain, and it is the prospective member's responsibility to seek out and obtain the assistance of these members.

 In no circumstances will names of existing members be given in order to solicit a recommendation.
